TaxConnex, America’s leading independent provider of sales and use tax outsourcing services, will be presenting a Telecommunications Tax Compliance Workshop for VoIP and Hosted PBX Service Providers at FISPA’s (Federation of Internet Solution Providers of the Americas) Simmering Service Provider Summit in Hotlanta June 18 – 20.

TaxConnex will host a two-part workshop on June 18th for VoIP providers from 3 – 5pm and is open to members and guests. The first part of the workshop focuses on needs of new providers and covers:

  •     What creates nexus for new VoIP providers;
  •     Understanding taxability of your products and services;
  •     Seeking exemptions with your carriers;
  •     Calculating tax and invoicing your clients;
  •     Registering with the Departments of Revenue; and
  •     Filing your first return.

The second part of the workshop focuses on existing VoIP providers and covers:

  •     Understanding the taxability of your products and services;
  •     Determining your prior period tax exposure;
  •     Voluntary disclosures or amnesty filings;
  •     Seeking exemptions with your carriers;
  •     Calculating tax and invoicing your clients;
  •     Registering with the Departments of Revenue; and
  •     Filing your first return.

“We enjoy presenting to the Internet Service Provider (ISP) and Managed Service Provider (MSP) communities,“ says Robert Dumas, presenter and TaxConnex Founding Partner. “ I am impressed with the entrepreneurial spirit and approach that the Service Providers have. Their agility and ability to react quickly will contribute to their success in delivering VoIP and Hosted PBX services to their current and future customers. I definitely look forward to meeting with them at the FISPA conference.”

“FISPA is dedicated to the Service Provider and emerging Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) market which continually strives to deliver additional service opportunities to their client base,” says Brian Greer, TaxConnex Partner. “Because of the complexities surrounding VoIP taxes, this workshop is ideal for ISP’s that have tax compliance questions.”

“This is a ‘repeat’ performance for TaxConnex at a FISPA conference. We have found their expertise to be ‘all inclusive’ and they have the ability to resolve previous issues and predict future events to ensure our membership is tax knowledgeable and hopefully compliant,” stated Jim Hollis, FISPA’s Executive Director.

FISPA’s “Simmering Service Provider Summit in Hotlanta” takes place June 18th – 20th. To register for the summit, contact FISPA at 877-919-4521 or visit the Summit Registration at FISPAlive.com.
