Client Activation Specialist

Position Summary

The Client Activation Specialist (CAS) is a key member of the TaxConnex Operations Services team, and their contributions are crucial to the company's success. This specialist is responsible for assisting in the onboarding and managing the compliance process across multiple accounts. They must be prepared to use their expertise to diagnose issues while guiding clients through step-by-step solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Sales and Use Tax Services:

    • Support Client Activation Managers with compliance processes, including registration applications, E-File credentials, and system set-up.
    • Ensure accurate and timely submission of sales and use tax returns according to the client's tax calendar.
    • Translate and import clients’ sales and use tax data into compliance software.
    • Manage cash requests, including generating monthly invoices and handling debits, credits, and check payments to jurisdictions.

    Compliance Management:

    • Oversee the preparation and submission of sales compliance returns, ensuring adherence to time-sensitive tax deadlines.
    • Assist in data quality initiatives, including data audits and configurations, to maintain high standards for compliance.
    • Perform additional duties or ad hoc projects as assigned by the manager.

    Location

    • This is an in-office position in our Alpharetta office with the possibility of hybrid work; candidates must be willing to commute to Alpharetta.

Position Requirements

•    A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or an equivalent field – or commensurate experience.
•    1-3 years of experience in indirect taxes, including Sales & Use and Communications Tax, and experience dealing with taxing jurisdictions.
•    Experience in filing Sales and Use Tax returns.
•    Intermediate computer technical skills, particularly in MS Excel.
•    Experience with multiple tax software packages.
•    Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various departments and management levels.
•    Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and validate client-provided transactional data.
•    Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet strict activation and filing deadlines.
