Position Summary: 

This position is a hybrid work location, part time in the office and part time remote. Therefore, candidates must be in the Alpharetta/Atlanta, Georgia area. Do not apply if you are not in the Alpharetta/Atlanta area. 
This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and quickly growing Sales and Use Tax company in Alpharetta, Georgia! We are currently hiring for a Sales Tax Compliance Analyst. The key responsibility of this role is to develop and lead a world class sales tax knowledge management function. This role will support the entire Company by staying current with sales tax updates and translating that knowledge into instruction and training materials.  In addition, this role will assist Practitioners to research and solve tax questions as well as resolve client issues.  



Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Manage new compliance client account set-up
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication with the Sales Tax Client Activation Manager regarding ongoing requirements for project completion
  • Maintain strict schedules to meet the client activation/onboarding timelines
  • Set-up internal client profiles in proprietary TaxConnex systems
  • Create activation documentation for initial client meetings
  • Verify E-file login credentials and obtain prior period data from jurisdiction websites
  • Register clients in new jurisdictions
  • Work with others across functional departments to ensure timely and accurate tax filings
Sales and Use Tax Compliance
  • Conduct monthly paper return matching to prepare returns for mailing
  • Complete sales and use tax monthly compliance for assigned Prior Period Projects (file and remit tax returns)
  • Timely transmittal of accurately prepared tax returns to jurisdictions in accordance with the Client tax calendar
  • Management of payments (debits, credits, and checks) to jurisdictions. 
  • Provide backup coverage for processing jurisdiction notices
  • Assist with any other Sales & Use Tax projects as needed

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or other equivalent degree plus experience is preferred
  • Experience filing sales and use tax returns, preferred
  • Intermediate computer technical skills needed - MS Excel
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with various departments and levels of management
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and validate client provided transactional data
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet strict activation deadlines
