Position Summary: 

The Sales Tax Associate is a critical member of the TaxConnex Client Activation team  and provides ongoing support through individual project management of various initiatives during the onboarding process. The role will work in a matrix structure collaborating with compliance and data specialists to ensure client success. This position is non-exempt and has potential to be a full or part time position. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Manage New Compliance Client Account Set-up Tasks and Schedule

  • Ensure accurate and timely communication with the Sales Tax Client Activation Manager regarding ongoing requirements for project completion
  • Maintain strict schedules to meet client activation/onbarding timelines
  • Set-up internal client profiles in proprietary TaxConnex systems
  • Create activation documentation for initial client meetings
  • Verify E-file login credentials and obtain prior period data from jurisdiction websites 
  • Register clients in new jurisdictions

Sales & Use Tax Compliance

  • Complete sales and use tax monthly compliance for assigned Prior Period Projects (file and remit tax returns)
  • Timely transmittal of accurately prepared tax returns to jurisdictions in accordance with the Client tax calendar
  • Provide standard and customized report preparation
  • Management of payments (debits, credits, and check) to jurisdictions

Assist with any other Sales & Use tax projects as needed.


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or other equivalent degree with experience
  • Experience filing sales and use tax returns, preferred
  • Intermediate computer technical skills - MS Excel
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with various departments and levels of management
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and validate client provided transactional data
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet strict activation and filing deadlines
