Position Summary:
The Client Onboarding Manager (COM) is a critical member of the TaxConnex Client Activation team and major contributor in successfully onboarding new clients into TaxConnex's sales tax compliance process. The role will work in a matrix structure collaborating with compliance and data specialists to ensure client success. This position is responsible for a broad spectrum of functions including tax research, data transformation, tax accounting/reporting, and tax process controls.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Client Tax Review
- Activation managers review and analyze client's past sales tax returns and tax data
- Identify and document client's business requirements related to sales and use tax
- Provide recommendations on tax-related regulations, rules, processes, and transactions to ensure effective and efficient tax compliance
- Identify and communicate potential tax opportunities to clients during the activation process
System and Data Setup
- Communicate and confirm data requirements with clients based on established business rules
- Determine data transformation requirements to map data to tax returns
- Configure and update tax return software
- Identify and confirm all sales tax exemption data
Project Management and Client Engagement
- Ensure accuracy and timely communication with the client regarding requirements and timeline
- Maintain strict schedules to meet client filing deadlines
- Matrix manage resources to achieve client onboarding objectives
Compliance
- Complete sales and use tax monthly compliance (file and remit tax returns)
- Provide standard and customized report preparation
- Register clients in new jurisdictions
- Assist with any other Sales & Use tax projects as needed.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or other equivalent degree plus experience
- 3-5 years of experience in Indirect taxes which can includes Sales & Use, Communications Tax, and experience dealing with taxing jurisdictions
- Experience filing sales and use tax returns
- Intermediate computer technical skills - MS Excel
- Experience with multiple tax software packages
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with various departments and levels of management
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and validate client provided transactional data
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet strict activation and filing deadlines

Note: this role is open to remote candidates. However, if you reside in the Atlanta area, this will be a hybrid schedule
