Business Development Representative (BDR)

Position Summary: 

TaxConnex is seeking to add more BDRs to our successful BDR team.

The BDR's primary function is scheduling meetings (phone/video-based discovery calls) between prospective customers and Account Executives. The BDR will leverage outbound prospecting strategies to identify prospects, initiate the first outreach, identify the needs and challenges of the prospect, and determine the prospect's interest in our service with the goal being to secure meetings and help build pipelines for the sales team. 

The BDR will be responsible for setting a minimum number of meetings each month and confirming these meetings to minimize the number of "no-shows". They will work closely with exisiting Account Executives to understand results in effective discovery calls and must have the ability to quickly learn, adapt, and thrive on a results-focused approach. This position will report directly to the Director of Sales. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Outbound calls and cadence management to prospective customers
  • Scheduling initial discovery call meetings
  • Work with Account Executives to ensure meetings are scheduled and confirmed, as well as to get a break-down on the success of calls
  • Work with a sense of urgency and faster pace of work than average to drive successful meetings 
  • Maintain proper notes and upkeep of contact information in company CRM
  • Gain a strong knowledge of product offerings and services so that you can speak confidently about service offerings and showcase the value to prospective customers

Position Requirements

Required qualifications
  • Excellent phone, writing and listening skills
  • Self-starter who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel in their role
  • Ability to maintain high levels of revenue-generating activity and a high commitment to integrity
  • Action oriented attitude and be able to work with a sense of urgency as well as accuracy
  • Proven work experience as a SDR (or similar) for 6+ months or currently in a BDR role for at least 6 months
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding weekly/monthly activity goals/quotas
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus
  • Sales tax compliance knowledge is helpful, but not required
